OSAT — Open Source Appropriate Technology

OSAT is a cross-over between Open Source movement and Appropriate Technology principles.

The “Appropriate Technology” part means that technical solutions are always adjusted to local community abilities and needs. If one cannot design a device from local materials alone, one will try to shorten supply chain as much as possible.

Open Source part means that the knowledge – detailed information how to make things – is available at no charge at all.
